The Story So Far are set to embark on a UK tour following the release of their new album Proper Dose earlier last month. This is the bands first album since May 2015 and is available to be listened to on the link - here.
The bands vocalist Parker Cannon states about not releasing new material since 2015: “We were so burnt from touring, and playing the same songs over and over again, e knew we had to take a step back and collect ourselves. This one (referring to the new album), all the way through, I just think it’s leaps and bounds ahead of anything we’ve ever done."
Guitarist Kevin Geyer states about the albums creative direction: "We didn’t really have a deadline, and the biggest enabler of us getting the record to where we wanted it was having time to work on it. Since our last record, we’ve all collectively really gotten into The Beatles. It’s not like we’re trying to sound like The Beatles, but it just gives you a crash course in songwriting and how you can experiment but retain your identity.”
Cannon says the question the band keeps asking themselves was: “How do we stay the same but get better?” which challenged a lot of The Story So Far's writing on this third release. Drummer Ryan Torf goes onto say: “It was a challenging process, but it was a very rewarding process.”
The album was mixed by Eric Valentine (Third Eye Blind, Queens Of The Stone Age) and brings together the classic sound of the group with the present sound, to create a balance that fans will enjoy.
